Shift forks are the same with same IH # on them, but the forks are welded to the shift rails. 400 and MTA transmissions are the same but on a 400 top cover the shifter opening is closer to rear of tractor so slots for the shift lever in the rails is a longer distance from the fork than a MTA rail. Also if I remember correct some of the half moon cut outs in the rails for spring loaded balls are in the wrong place.
