There are two ways to check the fuel shut off solenoid under the carb. After it dies, quickly unscrew it from the bottom of the carb, lay it against a bare patch of metal or something with a ground, and then turn the key on. If it doesn't move inward quickly, it is dead. Also, with our 2500, when you turn the key to the run position, you can hear a click when the solenoid energizes. If you hear it when it is cold, but then don't hear it after it stalls, that would seem to make it the culprit.
