On a 1206 Turbo IH (sorry, I don't have a manual): 1.Is hydraulic oil or hytran fluid used in the system? 2. What is the fluid capacity of this system? 3. How many drain plugs (and locations if you know them) will enable me to get out as much of the fluid as possible? Every year I go through the same problem in that the oil seems to get contaminated with water. The tractor is just used for spring seeding and a bit of fall harrowing, etc. By the next spring, the fluid is milky and the filter plugs up (with water I assume) and the whole steering system shuts down. Sometimes, just changing the filter does the trick, other years (like this one) it appears as if the fluid will have to be changed again. The tractor was used for countless years without this problem and it has just been in the last 6-7 years that this has happened. Anyone know what's happening?
