Farmall MD Will not start

I am going to pick up a farmall MD in the morning. I was told the only thing wrong with it is that it will not start. The guy i'm getting it from told me that he used it all day to blade his driveway. Befor he could get it into his shed it died on him. I tried to ask him if he was just warming it up to switch to diesel (it was april in minnesota and a few hours sitting it would need to warm up first.) The reason I think it quit on gas for him is because he is really close to the shed but not strait on with the door, kinda off to the side. Like a person would do who wants to keep the entrance clear to his shed. Also the bucket was not let down and was in a position where one might leave it if he was planning to put it away later. It is important for me to know if he was running on diesel and stopped it there and was going to put it away later for the night. He says that he cannot get it to start on gas. Thats why i think it died on him while warming it up. I have never driven one before but it seams to me that if it wont start on gas there would be a problume on the gas side like no spark or no gas. So im hoping that the diesel side is good. He dosent know alot about them. Dosent even know where to look for the serial number. So for i'm thinking that is a good sign. I am under the impression that i can switch the rack to diesel mode and pull it till she starts. He has not tried this. So im praying that is how we can get it going. Is there any chance that the diesel went out and the gas went out at the same time? If it died on diesel (which i don't think it did) and then would not start in gas just seams to puzzel me as one would think that both the diesel and the gas part of the engine would not go out at the same time. What would make it die on diesel and then not start on gas? ANY ideas? thanx ahead of time Jonnnny2006
