I don't exactly know what was done to our W6, but I do know that it runs quite a bit faster than it is supposed to, and it has the stock governor spring in it. Its been that way since my grandfather bought it used in the 70's. At WOT it sounds more like a 340, a 574, or a higher RPM IH motor than an M motor. When my dad, grandpa, and the uncles used to blow silage into the silo, it was the only tractor that was ever used. Supposedly none of the other tractors could blow the stuff as high as that W6, which is saying something, seeing as they had an M with domed and oversized pistons, an M with oversized pistons, and a W9 at the time. I figure if ours has run for 40 years like this, yours should be fine. My dad also used the wire on the governor trick. Supposedly they followed it with a truck, and it was hitting 30+ mph. Without the wire, it will stay right behind the 806 at about 20 or 22 mph. Have fun, but be sure to be safe! Tractors weren't meant to travel that fast.
