The cast code "L" Was used in the year 42 So the platform top must of been replaced. the cast code "S" is the year of 49 If you got the list of demo C's and your s.n. is not included then it was a dealer convert or a farmer/owner had it painted white at one time. Farmall had its dealers paint tractors during the slow times and also people repainted tractors too. if you have a 49 and it got just 1 paint job every ten years it would of had almost 6 paint jobs over that time period. though it probally hasent been painted that many times it gives you a perspective of how many times it could of been painted. just enjoy it, as if you cant talk to the people that owned it in the past it is nearly impossible to know what has been done to it over its life. take care jonnnny2006
