Super A hydraulic pump woes

Thank Hugh and Super A tx but I still cannit get the pump to pump. I pulled the filter and it was spotless. I removed the pump and pipe assembly as one piece after some barked knuckles and wondering why IH had to put the oil filter in just that spot. Filled the suction line full and turned the pump by hand until oil came out the discharge port. The pump turns clockwise when viewed from the gear end, right? Anyway put it all back together and no joy. I must have got something wrong when reassembling the pump. Any ideas before I rip it all apart again? I searched the archives and EL Toro has a post with a good exploded diagram. My blue ribbon service manual for touch control shows almost nothing
