Thanks to all of you for your quick replies. Much appreciated. I did buy a Case/IH TC=44B 231 page parts catalog when I got the tractor. Great manual with exploded parts lists of everything. Reason I asked is it did not show any fill or drain plug on the gearbox. This post told me where it was. Perfect. I took the radiator metal grill off to get to it and found the fill plug, drain, and the vent plug. Problem was, so much junk, paint, etc. on these plugs (probably never been used). I can't tell if they're square, hex, whatever. Can anyone tell me what they are supposed to be? I think I am in trouble and will probably have to drill them all out. I am better off getting someone with the right equip to drill & tap some new holes & plugs or is there a better solution. A machinist I am not. Thanks in advance for the help!
