As already covered the in line filter will work fine if it is for gravity feed. The Champion plugs are not as good as they use to be. When I overhauled my Super C in 97, I got a new set of Champions from my IH parts man and two of them were dead from the start, I took those back and traded for another set of them and one of those was dead, so I have not bought a Champion plug since. If they are running good run them until they quit.
