Pitted Sheet Metal?

I'll be removing the sheet metal (39- "A")and having it straightened and sand blasted but I can foresee some (alot) of small pitting. Does anyone have a good method of dealing with these rust pits? They're really small but I'm afraid they'll show through the finish paint. After going through all the time, trouble & expense, I'ld like the finished sheet metal to be as perfect as possible. Thanks for any ideas. Lynn (NY)
