Red you're right about this. I'm overhauling an H in my garage and I thought I would pull the whole unit off and check it out. Wow! I couldn't believe the rust, crud, and water lodged in there! I then opened it up and poured the liquid stuff out. Then I used gas (as cleaner) to scrub the entire inside down too. The cavity in there is prone to buildup from dampness inside the case, etc. The oil doesn't hit all the inner wall surface either so that's where the rust comes from.
