Super A hydrauic problems?

I have a Super A that I just put new o-rings in, basically rebuilt it. The hydraulic unit works fine when the control levers are moved forward then the lift moves fast. When I move the control levers back the engine constantly labors, oil gets hot, and the lift arms move very slow. Any ideas? Is there any adjustment? Something plugged? Why does it happen with both control levers, same thing on each side? Are there any hydraulic schmatics or test equipment out there to easily solve my problem.
