10-20 clutch

I have a old 10-20 that the clutch sometimes works and other times dosen't, It makes for a very interesting ride at times. I took the clutch apart not to long ago to look for a problem but I really couldn't find anything wrong. I lubed things up and reassembled it in hopes that was the problem. It seemed to be ok when I parked it for the winter. We had a somewhat summery day today so I fired it up and took it for a cruse and the clutch started acting up again. I can pump the pedal to get it to release sometimes and other times it works just fine. Has anyone run into a gremlin like this before? Any info would be helpful. Thanks, Daniel
