I've been told that the cooling system won't circulate without pressure in the radiator (which I lack). Is there any truth to this? I had the crack in the radiator soldered tight for a few weeks so that I had pressure, but it didn't run any hotter, so pressure doesn't seem to be the issue. What's involved in checking out the thermostat?
