Make sure the float is properly adjusted and that the float needle valve is holding and not allowing gas to flow all the time. If it leaks gas when the engine is off, then your float is set too high, or the needle valve is not seating. Also, the float must work freely and not be binding in any way. On the A, the main jet has no adjustment. The adjustment screw is only for the low idle.
