Steve is right. I grew up woth a 350 dad bought new. The rig tway is to shift it quickly, don't let it slip. especially when going from low to high range. Ours lasted quite a while before we had any trouble with it. Also, get a manual and keep the linkeage adjusted right. Asf faras running in low range is concerned, we plowed in low range a lot of the time, as the speed was right for the conditions. Did not seem to make any difference on the life of the TA.
