The 400 and 450 are EXACTLY the same tractor with different paint and emblems. The 400/450 have a little different plumbing for the hydralic than the SMTA. SMTA hydralics look like an afterthought added on system, while the 400/450 have hard lines and better placed controls for them. The TA on all 3 is the same, as is the live PTO unit. Power steering was an option on the 400/450 and easily added to the SMTA. I think the 400/450 has a little bigger bore engine for more power. I have a SMTA and love it. If that is what you want, buy it! Steven
