I really believe your wires are wrong. If you have done nothing to the distributor, I would start by standing where the ditributor looks like a clock. The rotor rotates clockwise and #1 plug wire will be in the 2 o'clock position. From there, clockwise hook the wire from #3 (third jug from the front) into the next hole on distributor. #4 or back cylinder next and then #2.

If that alone does not get you going I'll be really surprised.
