Removing stering gears

I'm trying to remove my radiator. I uncoupled the steering sector, front the rear section, pulled the top of the pedestal off and took the nut off the half moon gear. It appears I now need to remove that gear and screw the wom drive out through the front. Any hints on pulling the half moon gear.
