Will the loose steering matter? Naaaw. Not unless you want to be able to have control over the steering. Heck, loose steering can work out to be a handy feature if your field is comprised of rough terrain. Just get your tractor pointed at the opposite side of the field and just let her go. The slop and loose linkage will slap around and act sort of like a shock absorber of sorts as your front wheels encounter various irregularities and are knocked back and forth from side to side. Meanwhile your steering wheel remains firmly in your grasp and none of the back and forth motion is transferred to your hands. It's all taken up in the looseness of your linkage. The resulting lines, produce a real nice random effect on your fields in close keeping with the latest trends in agriculture. These random patterns get away from soil loss as a result of unnatural geometric lines that those who ridgidly control their steering contribute to soil erosion. Of course if you don't want plow or disk lines that look like a plate of spaghetti that's an entirely different matter. Good luck! Enjoy your "comfort grip" steering.
