Thanks for the additional info. Next time I may set them with the engine running - not sure yet. I had all new valves and seats installed, Dad said not to bother with setting the valves hot, just leave them the way they are. (I did it when he wasn't home, then told him about the tight ones - maybe next time he will want the valves reset on his tractors!) Steven
