SMTA Oil Pressure

The oil pressure on our SMTA seems to be running high. I don't know if the gauge works, but it's near the end of the high side (75?). When you shut it off the tractor diesels and then seem to run backward relieving pressure through the air cleaner. Any suggestions on our problems? Just overhauled it a year ago and this is the first time we had a chance to work it. Thanks in advance for your help.
