Our 806 diesel has nearly 10000 hours of hard usage and you can tell it needs an overhaul. Cold and that diesel dont mix, the compression just aint there any more and when you do get it to start when its cold, it will fire on only 3 cylinders at first then 2 will kick in in a little bit but one extremely weak cylinder wont fire for 5 minutes and im not exxaggerating either. Also now you can hear in the exhaust that a valve must be leaking, probably the exhaust valve on the weakest cylinder. Im curious though why it dont go through more oil than it does. The rings must be in fairly good shape yet. All the problems with low compression must deal with the valves then im guessin. And then when I do get it overhauled I was wondering whether it would be wise to add a turbo to it, I know that the engine would have to have a different exhaust manifold(probably one for a 1206)that is the only major modification to the engine( i think). But how much more HP would I get out of it if I keep the pump at the same setting, and will it smoke a lot less? Any estimates on cost to have this all done? Hope I didnt bore you guys to death, Im just very curious about the experiences that you guys have had with the D 361's(or DT 361's). Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance for goin to all the trouble to read this and reply!

"Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
