Hello All, I am having starting troubles on two of my tractors but the one that applies to this forum is my 1066. The solenoid clicks once and the volt meter on the dash drops like a rock when the starter button is pushed. I'll do this several times and them go get my volt meter. Then just as I pull my hair out the thing will start right up. The batteries have been just replaced as one of them failed to stay at 6 volts so I think this is not the problem. This machine doesn't get used as much as I'd like so it sits for a few weeks between startings. Upon reading so other posts on the subject I feel I might have a corrosion problem with the cables. Short of pulling them off to measure them I would like to know their lengths so I could get replacements. Any other thoughts you might have please post. The other machine does the same thing but it is a Kohler 12hp engine. The next step although expensive is to look into rebuilding the starter or replacing the starter with new. Thank You. Rich
