M Farmall Clutch

I have a problem getting my clutch to disengage so that after the tractor idols I have to grind the gears with clutch fully engaged inorder to shift into a gear. It disengages and stops the tractor OK when in gear. The free play travel I can adjust anyway I want. However, when pushing in the clutch after taking out the free travel, I only have a very short distance to the end of the clutch travel. It stops hard. Any adjusting I do on the linkage does not change the temperment of the clutch. Is it the pressure plate, throwout bearing or the throw out bear yoke? Or just a wornout clutch? Jim
