How does your tractor sound if you pull the choke a little bit? You could have a leak in your manifold. If you choke the tractor a little and it sound better but makes it smoke a little try looking at the manifold for a crack or bad gasket. Also - can you pin down the miss to a cylinder. That could help in figuring out whats happening.
