I am a bit rusty on this, as it is 22 years since I had my 560. I dug out old manual, and I can't figure how one could kick these valves. If that roll pin is missing, would make it difficult for changing from single to double action. Really that roll pin is your indicator and metal clip is designed to hold in one position or the other. As I recall these valves could be used for double action two hose cylinders. You could with the two hose cylinder change valve to single action to give float position. You could also use single action with a single hose cylinder. I do agree with you and RPM and your acessment of internal leakage in hydraulic cylinder.
