This donor system uses the points to handle trigger voltage for the solid state electronic ignition and the load to the points is minimal. The rubbing block is the weak link now. The original condenser is not required but is left unconnected in the system should you decide to revert to the old system for what ever reason. The impact to the tractors wiring is minimal also as two existing wires require lengtening only. The systems that are sold as aftermarket ignitions work fine but they do have electronic pickup components mounted in the distributor and are subjected to the engine heat which is detrimental.
