Hi, I have just aquired a 1941 Farmall A (see "A with rust in the wrong parts..."). Well the upper end of the engine was a mess (pretty much every thing below the valve cover was covered in rust). So I pulled the rocker arms, pulled the head, and I'm cleaning everything up (soaking in kero. and a wire brush). While doing all this I noticed that the block is cracked, only the water jacket, and it's not leaking, so it's not the end of the world, but not all that exciting. Anyway, I don't want to sink alot of cash into this machine right now. I have another A that I'm restoring, and really would like to finsh that before sinking money into this one. So what do you guys think about trying to reusing the gaskets (head, manifold, etc), just to see if the old girl will run? Seems to me as long as long as no air get pulled around the manifold, just for a test run, it should be fine. I guess what I'm getting to is it's easier to drive them then push. :) Thanks, Matt
