Wondering if it's my imagination or not..I recently got an old "H" running, and decided to check, change the gearbox oil. What little stuff that was in the gearbox more closely resembled brown Jello than gear oil. I drained it, flushed it with 5 gallons of diesel, and filled it with 6 gallons of 80-90 oil. Front and rear seals soon were dribbling pretty good....maybe a tablespoon out of each seal in 24 hours. Dreading the prospect of breaking the old girl in half to fix the front seal, I got a couple of bottles of automatic transmission stop leak at the farm store the other day thinking it could do no harm....and who knows..maybe some good. Well, it has been winter here, and I haven't ran it much at all, nothing like long enough to get everything up to full operating temperature, but , it seems to have stopped oozing oil out of both seals....think it might have fixed it ?or will my problem come back as soon as it gets warm again and I run it for a few hours ?
