I have a Farmall 140 just got couple weeks ago. It is 6 volt with a generator. Previous owners had battery connected neg ground. They hadn't bothered to change the ampmeter. When I bought tractor home battery was stone dead, not even a flicker on test light. The battery did take a charge. Generator is working well enough to run tractor if you jump start it. I suspect my only real problem is regulator. Yesterday I noticed coil is hooked + to ign. and - to distributor. This is backwards to any 6 volt Farmall I have owned. Is it right? What effects will this have had on coil or other parts?
