Hey BobM - belt drives

I found all the catalogs online for the Gates synchronous belts. The drive and driven pulleys I would need would cost over $100 each, plus a $50 belt, no can do. Also, with the information you have given I now see that a U-joint will not work at those kind of speeds. I guess they always seemed so smooth at 540 RPM PTO speeds. I am still wondering what a B section cogged V-belt could handle for power, figure tractor running at 1750 and pump running at 2000 RPM. Thanks for your time!
