By self powered I presume you are talking engine driven as oposed pto, and still pulled by tractor. All the models that were pto driven could be engine driven. Most of them used a weight much like a wheel weight added to the flywheel. The mounted engines powered the baler by flat belt over flywheel. The 45 baler was pre some where around 1956 and the 46 was the replacment that followed. I wont argue with previous post, 45 was junk, 46 was a good baler. Pictures I have also seen on the electrall, used the 55 baler, a much larger and higher capacity baler. Seems to me I remember a model 56, however its not pictured in CH Wendel's book, 150 Years of IH. What Mr. Wendel does say of electrall is," After its initial anouncement, little was heard of the Electrall unit.
