Looks like Kim didn't like where I uploaded the previous picture. I reloaded it to the "Parts and Pieces" gallery and the link is below. When IH came out with the live hydraulic, they knew that the old timing gears were not sufficiently strong to handle the load. M&W may have known this as well and supplied the right gearing. I suspect that broken gears show up on tractors where the pump was removed from one tractor and placed on another without changing the gears. Anybody who "dead heads" a hydraulic pump should not be allowed to play with hydraulic systems without parental supervision. It is very easy to idiot proof simple systems with compressed air testing. Relief valves are essential and are usually adjustable. Most lever type control valves have them built in on the inlet side of the valve. They will dump all overloads to the outlet which is connected to the zero pressure reservoir. The system shown in my photo was photographed during assembly. It was done to show how I offset the oil filter. I wanted to retain the old mag with its cable pull grounding switch. I have no intention of running the pump without oil. As for who would need more than one hydraulic power source, ask the IH engineers. They started doing this with the 06 series.

We arrived hoping to meet up with a man we knew had over one
