Leak in front crank oil seal....

After finishing the engine job on my 46 A, (the smoke has cleared, and she runs great!!) I now have a leak in the front crankshaft oil seal just behind the belt pulley. It's a pretty steady drip too. My question is...can I replace the seal by removing the front bolster, oil pan, belt pulley, and crankcase front cover, with the engine still mounted to the rest of the tractor, or do I have to remove the engine from the tractor to do the work.?? Does the crank have to be removed?, if so, can I drop it out of the bottom? Haven't done anything like this before, and I'm not sure of how to go about this job. Any ideas in the easiest procedure would be greatly appreciated.

Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
