?? about you folk's hay racks

I'm assuming these are basically wagons towed behind the operating baler, and are 4 wheeled jobs. If that's the case then are these also only used on properties very close to the barn? I need a solution to substitute in some miles traveled in-between field and barn. Sometimes 10 to 20 miles one way. The newer self powered stack wagons would be great but I sure can't justify 20-30K for just bit of use every year.
