fast hitch too low

I posted this in the 'Tractor Talk' forum but thought you guys may know a traick or two here.

I have a Farmall 544 with fast hitch and 3 point conversion kit(the kind with the straight arms that slide into the fast hitch arms). When I hook up my JD-9W sicklebar mower to it it won't lift it off of the ground far enough. Actually, the cutterbar side of mower never leaves the ground. On my smaller Cub Cadet 7272 27hp model, it's 3pont hitch lifts the mower well of the ground. The mower has a spring near the cutterbar but I don't see anyway to adjust it tighter so my only other option is to adjust the hitch on tractor I guess. I know they make 3 point arms for the fast hitch that have a bend in them. Would this maybe fix my problem? Can you just buy these arms and not the whole conversion kit? By the way, I have the fast hitch arms cranked up as high as they will go and even if I put it in draft control to get the lift to its highest point it still leaves the mower just touching the ground.

Thanx for any suggestions,

Jerry
