If you have only one mark, your Cub is set up for a mag. It is timed static. Forget about the light. When cranked slowly, the impulse should trip exactly on the TDC mark. The centrifugal advance takes care of the advance when it is running. This is done this way as a safety thing so it doesn't hurt you by kicking back while hand cranking.
