KB: I really have no experience with the one's you list. I do know the 282 diesel with aftermarket turbo created a few headaches. An aquaintance of mine had one of the last 966 with a narurally aspired 436 from factory. He added a M&W turbo. The last I heard the turbo was in a box in corner of shop. I have never talked with him about it nor do I know why. He did add a 1486 to his tractor line up, so it could be turbo on 966 was not needed. He is a dairy farmer and his heavy load was forage harvester and only one of them. In our area tillage equipment tended to be in the 20' range as most were only growing 150-250 acres corn. Rest of land was in alfalfa and grass haylage. It just wasn't worth going to the heavier cultivator and disc frames, associated with larger equipment. He had a 12' mower conditioner and was probably using 966 on that. He had an older IH Wheatland, open station with no 3 point, it never seemed to be anywhere but silo blower. He pulled his silage wagons with a 656.
