Carburetor Confusion on an H

I have a 49 H with a gasoline engine. Both the engine and serial number plate match and end in "X1". The carburetor on the tractor looks exactly like the picture of the gasoline carburetor on page 26 of the IH Service Manual. (A reprint of CHS-69 dated 3-1-47)

However, when I look up the number on my fuel bowl (6212 DB), the IH Farmall Parts Catalog indicates this is a distillate carburetor.

Has anyone run into this before? I'd like to rebuild the carburetor, but not if it is the wrong carburetor.
