Fred,
I have both a distillate carb and a gasoline carb and the only outward appearance differance is the distillate carb has the drain cock on it and the gas carb just has a pipe plug where the drain is on the distillate carb.
I do know that mixing parts from the 2 will cause my tractor to run like @#$%!
X1 is deffinately a Gasoline only tractor.
