Scott: You have told me a lot this time by saying what you were doing when this happened. The fact the tractor started to stall indicates you have two gears engaged. Of the three slides which one would you estimate is in neutral? This usually doesn't happen when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Those three rails that your shift lever operates in are as follows; left is 4th and 5th, center is 2nd and 3rd and right is 1st and reverse. The transmission cant get in two gears that are on same rail. This usually happens when shifting from 1st to 2nd or vice versa and shifting from 3rd to 4th or vice versa. What usually happens is end of shift lever is worn and slips out of notch in rail without removing from a gear then you put it in a gear on next rail. If you study your shift lever movments below deck, you can fathom which gears you have tractor in. The next thing I would try is another vehicle that will move tractor enough to take presure off gears. The ideal item would be a set of come alongs as you have to remove presure off gears. The reason the clutch didn't help is the two gears at once. You may have to try pulling both foreward and reverse and hold. One way will release that presure. This should work, and after you get it freed up the end of shift lever should be built up with weld and ground off so it nicely fits the notch in one of the rails. One other item I notice your clutch and TA need adjusting. This should be by the book exactly. Close doesn't count. I do hope this helps, if not come back.
