YOub didnt mention how many rows you are planting, but regardless, an "M" will handle 4 rows fine except that it will work you to death, compared to some of the later models. I agree with Hugh, that an 8 or above 56 model will do just about what you want up to 8 rows. We use a 1456 on 8 row no till, which requires a lot of power, and it does great. Suggestion #2: Go diesel. It will cost a bit more to buy a diesel, but you will sure save it back on fuel cost.
