Farmall 404 problem

howdee all. i've been having a problem keeping the pilot bearing in the clutch on this 404. i have replaced it 3 times in the last 2 years. needless to say, rather a great pain in the neck. any ideas as to what the problen could be? the shaft on the pilot end seems to be fine. anyone have this kind of problem with this kind of tractor?
