Redman! I believe the 1066 same as 656 only one shaft from engine to the Hydro housing then a gear to drive the other pump and PTO so the flex plate will stop everything. As for brakes if everything is up to par should have just as good brakes as power been there done that many times should be able to steer if everything is up to par.
