HP rating, reputation of IH 686 diesel

Thinking of bidding on a nice IH 686 at auction. What is the HP rating of this model, as well as its' "reputation" in terms of a reliable workhorse--I've seen several discussion threads on the 656. How does the 686 compare? Thanks to all who respond. Steve in WI
