Hugh, I've heard the same thing about Super A's-- that they were (and are) a favorite among tobacco growers and that they were used principally for cultivating. This drawbar is kind of the right width-- someone welded homemade brackets to it and they are about 1/4" too wide at top, just right at bottom. It doesn't hook over the bolts at two points on each side like original SA drawbars, but rather is set up to be bolted to the the tractor at three points on each side through drilled holes. It looks like an IH drawbar, though I cannot find any markings and cannot match it to any other by photos. The fellow who sold it to me was nice enough and seemed an honest guy, so I'll try to return it to him. You're right about the rarity of these things-- trying to find one has been exasperating.
