You can do an inframe overhaul and change main and rod bearings and sleves pistons. only need to pull engine if crank is bad or if cam bearings need replaced or main seals. That engine not to hard to handle. If you don't have hoist I would take it down as much as I could before removing from TA housing, take off front end then engine.
