Had an automotive diesel with a gear reduction starter. Thing was constant problem. Finally resorted to regular HD starter, and got along fine. Not sure why you feel a reduction starter is necessary, but suggest you check with a local backyard rebuilder. Maybe you can substitute a larger, heavy duty starter with minimal fuss.
