It would appear that dragging it broke the clutch free. When you are ready to crank the engine with the starter, leave the ignition switch off, with tractor in 4th and clutch depressed crank the engine with the started a few revolutions to see if the rear wheels roll forward or not. If it does not roll then the clutch must be unstuck. But the first time you attempt to start it make sure it is in neutral. I am not sure if the 240 was the same pilot bearing (bronze bushing) as the SC or not but when we owned a SC the pilot bearing would always sieze onto the the transmission drive shaft about every 3 years. Our SC had a front end loader and dad did a lot of loader work for other farmers so the clutch was well used. Good luck with your 240 JB
